The root cause of the overwhelming majority of foot-drop cases is an instability, weakness or injury to the muscles sitting at the front of the leg. These muscles control upward movement which can become inhibited in the event of damage or neurological impairment.
Drop foot can also be traced back to a number of neurological conditions like:
Myositis Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy Stroke Nerve Damage Can You Recover From Foot Drop? The good news is that you can make a full recovery from foot drop if the prognosis of this underlying condition is good. If it isn't, you can manage your condition using a combination of physiotherapy and posturing aids.
Thankfully, products like the Ossur Foot Up offer an incredible prognosis for recovery. Whilst there is no guaranteed cure for foot drop, the Ossur Foot Up effortlessly works to strengthen muscles and align tendons and ligaments to give you the best possible chance of relieving pain and increasing your mobility and range of motion naturally.
