How Do the Currex BikePro Insoles Work?

Currex insoles bring together five innovative features to give your feet the maximum of support and boost your performance:

  1. The Optomised Heel Cup provides a better fit inside the shoe.
  2. Triple Layer Support aids air circulation and reduces the risk of blister development or excessive foot odour by wicking moisture.
  3. 3D DAT (Dynamic Arch Technology) to generate dynamic mid-sole arch support.
  4. PROPO+ generates maximum power transfer during pedal strokes.
  5. Metatarsal Cushioning offers PORON cushioning protection to the heel and ball of the foot.

What Activities are These Shoes Designed For?

BikePro shoes excel in all kinds of cycling, including:

  • Road cycling
  • Triathlon
  • Mountain biking
  • Track cycling

Is This a Medium Arch Insole?

This medium profile sole is designed to support those with an average height foot arch. While average feet provide better impact relief than flat feet or high arched feet they are still at risk from intensive or repetitive exercise. If this is not the right foot type for you we also have variants for low and high arches.

Are These Insoles Available for Different Kinds of Feet?

All Currex Insoles come in three varieties to give the best support to all kinds of feet:

  • Low Profile Insoles for low arched feet – Low arched feet have a minimal arch or no visible arch at all. Low arches are ineffective shock absorbers and prone in injury.
  • Medium Profile Insoles for medium arched feet – Medium arched feet have an arch stretching from hell to the ball of the foot. These feet are effective at reducing shock, but are still at risk of injury after excessive or intense physical injury.
  • High Profile Insoles for high arched feet – High arched feet have a distinct arch stretching from heel to forefoot. These arches are often more rigid and less able to absorb shock, which can lead to injury.

Which Arch Do I Have?

If you don't know what sort of arch you have, an easy fitting guide is to attempt to place an index finger beneath the arch of your foot while standing upright:

An alternate test to find out your foot type is to walk over brown or coloured paper with wet feet. the imprint left by your foot should depict your arch height, as shown in the diagram below:

What kind of arch do you have?

What is DAT (Currex Dynamic Arch Technology)?

3D DAT (dynamic arch technology) is a dynamic bridge made from a nylon composite. To reduce the risk of overload, it supports the mid-section of your foot and minimises excessive movement.

Not only does this dynamic arch reduce the risk of overload, it stores energy and makes your stride more efficient. This makes the DAT ideal for people that are cycling long distances.

What Other Currex Insoles Are Available?

Currex offer insoles for a variety of specific activities:

  • RunPro Insoles are designed to give you the best performance possible from your running shoes.
  • CleatPro Insoles are excellent all round sports insoles.
  • EdgePro Insoles are built to give you back control where boots have restricted your feet, such as in snow sports.
  • HikePro Insoles help to avoid blisters while keeping your feet firm in hiking boots or shoes.

Insole Sizing Guide

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit

Using Your Shoe Size

For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.

Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.

Measuring Your Current Insoles

While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.

To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
  2. Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
  3. Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results

Where Can I Find the Dimensions?

The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.

What If There Are No Dimensions Listed?

If you do not see the dimensions listed on the Product Details tab, please fill in the form below and we will work to get the relevant information as quickly as possible. We will email you once we have the information that you have requested.

Trimming Your Insoles to Fit

To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
  2. Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
  3. Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
  4. Carefully cut along the traced line
  5. Your insoles should now fit your shoes better

Trace the outline of your existing insoles
Carefully trace the outline of your insole

Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.

If you would like a more detailed guide to trimming your insoles, please read our full guide on How to Trim Your Insoles.

Superb insoles for cycling
Rating:
07 October 2021  |  Maryjane

I ride endurance ultra cycling events. These insoles have been perfect in reducing hot foot issues. They certainly help and mean my cycling is completed without thinking of my sore feet constantly. Plus they do not bulk up the shoe as some insoles I’ve tried have.
