What Is Metatarsalgia?

Metatarsalgia is a general term given to a condition where pain originates at the ball of the foot where the heads of the metatarsals bones are positioned. While some conditions might need further investigation, metatarsalgia can usually be treated simply by a change in footwear or adding support underneath the foot.

How Do the Metatarsalgia Insoles Work?

Features of the FootActive 3/4 Metatarsalgia Insoles

The FootActive Metatarsalgia 3/4 Length Insoles keep the foot at an ideal angle to lower pressure on all areas, especially the metatarsal region. To achieve this, a deep heel cup and metatarsal raise stabilise the foot's position. Simultaneously, padding in the forefoot and heel absorbs impact force from walking.

Are the FootActive Metatarsalgia Insoles Right for Me?

These orthotic insoles are ideal for targeting the symptoms of metatarsalgia, or pain in the ball of the foot. As they also offer shock absorption and enhanced foot stability, they are suitable for treating a range of other conditions. Some of these include:

  • Metatarsalgia (ball of foot pain)
  • Morton's Neuroma
  • Metatarsal pain
  • Fallen arches
  • Friction injuries

What Makes the FootActive Metatarsalgia Insoles Different?

FootActive Metatarsalgia 3/4 Length Insoles Improve Foot and Ankle Positioning

The FootActive Orthotic Insoles were designed by leading professionals to treat metatarsalgia by encouraging a healthy alignment of the foot and ankle. The raised metatarsal area lifts and support the transverse arch, while a deep heel cup promotes realignment. The unique 3/4 length ensures the arches receive targeted support.

How Do These Insoles Protect Against Injury?

These insoles have padding in the heel and forefoot. As you walk, the padding in these regions absorb impact force, protecting them from damage. The energy is then released as you push off the ground, allowing you to move forward in a safe, controlled manner.

Features of FootActive 3/4 Length Insoles

  • 3/4 Length insoles effectively treat symptoms of metatarsalgia
  • Shock absorption in the heel and forefoot
  • Heel cup and arch support hold the foot in a desirable position

Insole Sizing Guide

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit

Using Your Shoe Size

For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.

Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.

Measuring Your Current Insoles

While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.

To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
  2. Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
  3. Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results

How to measure your insoles

Where Can I Find the Dimensions?

The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.

Product Details Example
The dimensions of insoles can usually be found on the "Product Details" tab

What If There Are No Dimensions Listed?

If you do not see the dimensions listed on the Product Details tab, please fill in the form below and we will work to get the relevant information as quickly as possible. We will email you once we have the information that you have requested.

Trimming Your Insoles to Fit

To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
  2. Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
  3. Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
  4. Carefully cut along the traced line
  5. Your insoles should now fit your shoes better

Trace the outline of your existing insoles
Carefully trace the outline of your insole

Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.

If you would like a more detailed guide to trimming your insoles, please read our full guide on How to Trim Your Insoles.

Morton’s Neuroma
Rating:
11 May 2022  |  E

I chose these particular insoles as they specifically say they help with Morton’s Neuroma. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to test them out as the size I ordered is incorrect despite following the size guidelines provided on their website. The size I ordered were too big. Generally speaking I take a 4 or 5 in a shoe. I measured my feet and compared the results with their table and it said to order a shoe size 7, (which turns out to be Meduim). Sounds crazy but given the measurements matched the online table, that is what I went with…..doh!. Now waiting for a smaller size.

Response:

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review with us.

As mentioned in our sizing guidelines, we recommend taking the measurement of an existing insole, not shoe, to ensure that the fit you get is as close to perfect as possible. If the measurement of a shoe is taken, the likelihood is that the measurement will be considerably larger than if an insole were used.

We hope this information is helpful and clears up your issue.

Many thanks,

Seth at ShoeInsoles.co.uk

I have tried so many insoles. They really do work! I only have them 1 day but I am pretty confident. Also got the same but in full length. Very happy. Thank you!

very comfortable

I have bought several full length insoles to help with suspected Morton's Neuroma but they do fill up a shoe. OK in lace ups but not so good in a more formal flat shoe. These have proved to be much better than I hoped for as they leave more room in the toe box and don't have a hard edge under the foot. Really good product

Really good product and so supportive. They take some getting used to as the level of support is quite firm but I am feeling the difference and getting less pain overall. They are a good design and fit into different types of shoe with no problems. Highly recommended!
