Which Orthosole Heel Lift Is Best for My Condition?

Numerous ailments and conditioned can be bettered with the Heel Lift Insoles, including:

    • Leg Discrepancies: For those with a leg discrepancy (one leg shorter/longer than the other), the Heel Lift can be prescribed once the leg difference (in millimetres) has been determined. The insole can then be adopted by the individual to correct the leg length difference
    • Plantar Fasciitis: The Heel Lift Insoles are a great choice for individuals with plantar fasciitis as the extra support diverts stress away from the plantar fascia (the thin ligament which connects your heel to the front of your foot). An 8mm insole under both heels is recommended (or 6mm if footwear isn't that deep)
    • Achilles Tendonitis: Stress can be taken away from the tendon by using Heel Lift Insoles under both feet, proving useful for those with achilles tendonitis. An 8mm insole under both heels is recommended (or 6mm if footwear isn't that deep)

To find out the length of each size, please view the information below:

When paired with OrthoSole's full length insoles, these Heel Lifts can be worn to increase comfort and support in various everyday situations, from formal occasions to sporting activities.

Please note that for tight fitting footwear, choosing insoles one size down is recommended.

Will the Insoles Move in My Shoes?

The OrthoSole Heel Lifts feature an adhesive backing that allows you to easily attach the lifts. This helps to prevent the shifting of your heel lift (also known as "migration") and ensures that your are receiving the comfort and support that you desire.

Do I Wear These Insoles By Themselves?

Although the insoles are suitable for use in most normal shoes, these Heel Lift Insoles work best when worn under a pair of OrthoSole's full length insoles.

    Insole Sizing Guide

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit

    Using Your Shoe Size

For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.

Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.

    Measuring Your Current Insoles

While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.

To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:

    1. Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
    2. Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
    3. Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results

    How to measure your insoles

Where Can I Find the Dimensions?

The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.

    Product Details Example
The dimensions of insoles can usually be found on the "Product Details" tab

What If There Are No Dimensions Listed?

If you do not see the dimensions listed on the Product Details tab, please fill in the form below and we will work to get the relevant information as quickly as possible. We will email you once we have the information that you have requested.

    Trimming Your Insoles to Fit

To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:

    1. Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
    2. Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
    3. Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
    4. Carefully cut along the traced line
    5. Your insoles should now fit your shoes better

Trace the outline of your existing insoles
Carefully trace the outline of your insole

Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.

If you would like a more detailed guide to trimming your insoles, please read our full guide on How to Trim Your Insoles.

I bought these for my insertional tendonopathy. They are solid with no give, so best used under an existing shoe foot liner or foot bed. It’s essential to glue them in place using the adhesive provided or they will move. It certainly is not an instant cure and only time will tell. I believe they will aid recovery in the long term.

I ordered the heel lift in large but it was actually too long in my shoe and wouldn’t lie flat at the tapered end . It measured longer than it said on the website . Customer Service said I could return for exchange or refund but that meant paying postage so I decided to cut the heel lift down at the thick end . It was only 4mm thick so easy enough. Does it help with my uneven posture caused by hips that are out of line , yes it does and once I’m used to 4mm I will try the 6mm one , I only need to use one in my right shoe that’s the side that is lower .

I had tried several insoles before this to help with my plantar fasciitis. They either mover around making my motorcycle boots hard to get on or filled the boots so much they were uncomfortable. These have a good quality 3M adhesive base and no perceptible ridge. They have completely renewed my love for my boots. Great delivery too.

After a total hip replacement left me with a longer leg. I need inserts. Bought these to wear in sandals and other shoes with a bonded sole. I had my doubts thinking they would be uncomfortable but how wrong! I can’t tell I’m wearing them. You can’t see them in sandals, are easy to fit and I can now wear all previous shoes. Thoroughly recommend.

I’d ordered a pair of heel raise insoles on the instructions of my physiotherapist to treat an Achilles injury. I unfortunately ordered 3 pairs and only noticed when the order confirmation arrived on email that night. I emailed the support team to amend the order and first thing in the morning they confirmed that the order and subsequent refund was being processed. The product arrived promptly and are aiding my rehabilitation. Top notch product and service too.

These have transformed my life! Following a hip replacement my original differing leg lengths have been increased with resulting knee, hip and pelvic problems - hard to believe that one heel lift would be the cure all. Many thanks.
