The Yaktrax Diamonds are made to be as comfortable to wear as possible, and so are very lightweight despite their strength. Depending on the size you choose, they will weight between 235.3 - 337.3g (8.3 - 11.9oz) and will not impede your movement in any way thanks to their minimalistic form.

How Do I Put the Yaktrax Diamonds On?

You can get your Yaktrax on and off in a matter of moments. Before setting off, place the ice grip over your toe and pull it back over your heels. Once you've done the same for both feet, you'll be ready to tackle the snow without hesitation!

Is There Anything I Should Check Before Using Yaktrax?

Once you've put your Yaktrax on, it's a good idea to check that they have been applied correctly to prevent injury to yourself or damage to the product. Please check that:

1. The word 'heel' or 'toe' on your Yaktrax are pressed against your shoe (they should not be visible or the device is inside out).
2. The diamond beads sit flat against the soles of your shoes and does not go past its edge.
3. The outer band rests against the outer edge of your footprint (this should not be caught on the sole).

What Types of Shoes Will They Fit?

The rubber band of the Yaktrax Diamonds will remain flexible even when temperatures sink well below zero. The ice grips can therefore easily stretch over all kinds of shoes, including smaller trainers and thick work boots.

How Do The Yaktrax Diamond Ice Grips Work?

The chains of the ice grips feature a number of diamond shaped beads, which have sharp edges that cut into snow and ice. This helps to increase the grip your shoes provide especially in areas where the beads are concentrated, like on your forefeet and heels.

Can I Walk On Pavement With the Yaktrax?

The Yaktrax Diamonds are designed to cope with bare pavement or other non-snow or ice covered terrains, you should still limit the amount you walk on them. This is because consistent use on such ground can lead to damage to the product, or discomfort for the user.

Will Snow Get Caught In the Yaktrax Ice Grips?

Each bead on the Yaktrax Diamonds swivels independent of the others, ensuring snow will never be caught in the chain. While the sharp edges of the beat dig into snow to increase traction, they won't insert themselves far enough to become stuck, so you won't have to worry about this either.

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit

Using Your Shoe Size

For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.

Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.

Measuring Your Current Insoles

While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.

To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:

1. Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
2. Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
3. Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results

Where Can I Find the Dimensions?

The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.

Trimming Your Insoles to Fit

To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:

1. Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
2. Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
3. Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
4. Carefully cut along the traced line
5. Your insoles should now fit your shoes better

Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.
