Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
A leg length discrepancy can cause a range of symptoms, including lower back pain resulting from poor posture. If there is a relatively slight limb length discrepancy, this can be treated by adding a heel lift to your shoes. The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is one such insert and is a therapeutic solution for leg length discrepancies.
What's Included?
What Is the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole?
The Clearly Adjustable Insole is a tiered insole that allows you to manually remove layers of material in order to correct the discrepancy in the length of your legs. The insole should be placed inside the shoe of the shorter leg to increase the height and drastically reduce hip, knee and back pain.
For Best Results...
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is made from hardened plastic which gives it a highly supportive fit and feel. Because of the hardened nature of this material, it can take up to a week for the insole to gently mold itself to comfortably accommodate the form and shape of your foot.
After a week the foundation material will begin to soften slightly under the unique pressure distribution pattern of your foot, giving a more tailored, comfortable fit.
Sizing of the Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is available in seven different sizes that should suit most adults. To find your best size, simply match your shoe size to the table below.
To ensure a precise level of fit, we recommend removing the existing insole from your shoes and measuring the length and width at the longest and widest point as shown in the image below. Match these measurements to the dimensions listed below in order to find the pair that will best fit your shoes.

Key Features and Benefits of a Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
- Reduces symptoms caused by a leg length discrepancy (e.g. poor posture)
- Adjustable up to 19mm at the heel in 1mm increments
- Helps you get tailored support throughout use
- Made with a combination of transparent full-foot and rear-foot layers
- Designed to minimise changes in ankle angulation, gait and foot pressure
- Allows for a staged introduction to lifting the heel
- Full-length design minimises foot slant to improve comfort
Are Leg Length Discrepancy Insoles Sold in Pairs?
Due to the nature of a discrepancy, a Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is sold as a single item to adjust the length of one leg. Please select either the right or left foot variant depending on your requirements using the drop-down box above.
Indications for the Leg Length Discrepancy Insole
The Clearly Adjustable Combination Insole is ideal for use in the following circumstances:
- Treating a leg length discrepancy (i.e. one leg shorter than the other)
- A smaller foot on a shorter leg
- Gradual height reduction to ease stretching associated pain after healing
- Rehabilitation following a hip replacement, which can cause a significant leg length inequality
- Firm heel support and control for sports and athletic footwear
How Do I Fit My Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole?
When correctly positioned, your Leg Length Discrepancy Insole should be placed underneath your standard insole. This is because they are made of compact and dense material designed to provide maximum support and cushioning.
The ability to remove layers allows you to gradually tailor the fit and size of your insole, allowing you to test out different heights until you find the correct variation for your condition.
Can I Trim This Insole Down to Adjust the Size?
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is available in individual shoe sizes to fit most shoes and foot sizes. However, an even more precise fit, or to fit shoes slightly smaller than the smallest size, it is beneficial to trim the insole. To do this, please follow the instructions below:
- Simply remove the original insole from your shoe and use this as a template by placing it against the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole and drawing around it with a marker pen.
- Next, separate the leg length discrepancy insole in 2mm to 3mm increments
- Cut away the areas outside the outline that you have made with a pair of sharp scissors
- Reassemble the layers according to your needs
- If the insole slips slightly, use a small amount of double-sided tape to position it in place
Adjustable Design with Removable Layers
The elevation of the Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole can be customised for a perfect fit by removing or replacing layers of the insole element, the heel lift element, or both, to suit your precise requirements. Simply remove layers until you achieve the ideal size insole for you.
Minimise Change in the Ankle Angle
The slant or graduation of the Clearly Adjustable Heel Lift Insole tapers gradually almost to the metatarsal, minimising the angle at which the foot and ankle rest. Unlike the slightly more acute angle of a heel lift, this gradual slope minimises changes to the ankle angle.
As a result, your foot can remain in a more level position, reducing related and unwanted changes in gait, foot pressure and Achilles tendon length.
What Conditions Are Suitable for Leg Length Discrepancy Insoles?
- Hip Pain
- Hip Replacement
- Leg Length Discrepancy
- Knee Pain
- Knee Replacement
- Shin Splints
Retains Its Shape
The Clearly Adjustable Leg Length Discrepancy Insole is manufactured from material that will not become crushed or change height while you are using it. Instead, it quickly conforms to the shape of your shoe for comfort and to prevent the feet and fit of your shoe from changing.
Durable and Cling-Resistant Material
These layers cling to themselves without sticking to other surfaces like socks or shoe fabric, which helps prevent your socks from getting caught on the insole. The vinyl can also be cleaned easily and does not absorb moisture or support bacterial growth, helping to prevent the insole from causing any odour in your shoe.
Suitable Shoe Types for the Clearly Adjustable Insole
The Clearly Adjustable Discrepancy Insole works well in standard closed-heel shoes, as well as with sandals and open-backed shoes. In standard closed-heel shoes, adhesive positioning tape is not usually required to hold the insole in place.
Your shoe will require some space inside it to accommodate the Leg Length Discrepancy Insole. As a result, shoes with laces and a slightly taller toe box or toe area are ideal for fitting the leg length discrepancy insole.

Our Guide to Finding the Perfect Size and Fit
Using Your Shoe Size
For most of our insoles, the easiest way to find the best size for you is to go off of your current shoe size. The majority of our insoles are available in a range of sizes and you can simply select the size that best fits your existing shoes.
Please be aware that, as with shoes, there can be slight variations in the size of insoles. For example a size 8 of one brand might not be exactly the same size and width as the size 8 of another. To help account for these discrepancies, a number of our insoles include dimensions to help you ensure you're getting the right size.
Measuring Your Current Insoles
While using your shoe size to find your best size is a good guide, it is not always foolproof. If you want to guarantee that your insole fit your shoes as closely as possible, we recommend measuring your existing insole and using this as a guide to your size.
To do this, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Remove the existing insole from the shoes you wish to use your new insoles with (please note that not all insoles are removable)
- Measure the insoles at their longest and widest points (see the below diagram for an idea of where this will be
- Match the measurements to the dimensions of the insoles listed, and choose the size that best fits your results
Where Can I Find the Dimensions?
The dimensions for insoles can be found on the "Product Details" tab (please see below) and are usually found in the sizing section of the listing, in a table. Please be aware that not all products currently have the dimensions listed.
The dimensions of insoles can usually be found on the "Product Details" tab
What If There Are No Dimensions Listed?
If you do not see the dimensions listed on the Product Details tab, please fill in the form below and we will work to get the relevant information as quickly as possible. We will email you once we have the information that you have requested.
Trimming Your Insoles to Fit
To get the ultimate level of fit from your insoles, you can trim them to make a small adjustment. To trim your insoles, simply follow the steps below:
- Remove your existing insoles from your shoes
- Line up your existing and new insoles at the heel
- Trace the outline of the insoles against the new pair at the toe end (see the image below for an example)
- Carefully cut along the traced line
- Your insoles should now fit your shoes better
Carefully trace the outline of your insole
Please note that not all insoles are suitable for trimming. Most insoles are unsuitable for return once they have been trimmed to fit; we recommend bearing this in mind prior to trimming.
