We’re sure that when you picked up those killer pair of heels, or those Oxfords that perfectly matched your new suit, you were far more concerned about how they looked on the outside than how they felt on the inside. We’re certain you weren’t worried about arch support, blistering feet or a future of inserts, because your pretty new shoes would never do that too you, right? Sadly, we’re also pretty certain you were wrong – but worry not, because where your shoes may have been all style, our Talarmade insoles are things of great substance.

In 1991, Powerstep was founded by Dr Les Appel, a podiatrist, foot surgeon and runner. Dr Appel knew that there were some orthotic shapes that worked well with most patients but he noticed that there was a clear lack of simple, off-the-shelf shoe insoles that were ready to wear and would work well at reducing pain. Dr Appel set out to change this and decided to design his own range of insoles to accommodate as many people and conditions as possible.
A company which broke the mould in shoe insole manufacturing, Formthotics has a storied history. Formthotics was started 30 years ago by Dr Charlie Baycroft, a doctor specialising in sports medicine, and David Boyd, a former professional skier. The two bonded over their use of thermo-plastic foam in shoe insoles.
Pedag is a part of the Euroleathers family, a leather trader and stocker. After working for decades on what goes on the outside of shoes, in 2003 they decided to bring their care and attention to the inside of shoes too. With a combined experience of over 70 years of leatherwork, it’s no surprise that Pedag insoles are comfortable and supporting.
In 1979, Vasyli International was founded by Dr Philip J Vasyli. At first, they simply made orthotics for plaster casts, however Dr Vasyli soon realised there was a demand for a cost-efficient orthotic which took less time to make.
