Compeed: The Best Way to Deal with Blisters, Corns and Cracked Heels

When you spend each day juggling work, play, friends and family, your feet can bear the consequences of your hectic lifestyle. Keeping up the pace can be difficult and you might be too embarrassed to ask family and friends if they suffer from the same issues.

Problems like blisters, corns and cracked heels, however, are actually extremely common amongst women and easy to treat. Compeed’s product range alleviates your issues so you don’t have to slow down.

Staying One Step Ahead

Introduced in 1986, Compeed is an established brand which designs gel plasters to treat blisters, corns, cracked heels and cold sores. The brand dismissed the idea that wounds need air to heal and instead used the findings of modern wound healing to create their products. The plasters act like a skin barrier (or a “second skin” as it is now known) between the wound and your clothes to help reduce chafing and friction.

How Does It Work?

With Compeed’s innovative hydrocolloid technology, you can stay safe in the knowledge that you can remain on the go without feeling any pain or discomfort. Contrary to popular belief, the plaster itself doesn’t heal the wound. Instead, it stops the wound’s development in its tracks and encourages the growth of new skin beneath the plaster. Without using plasters, dirt, germs and water can get into your wound which makes it susceptible to becoming infected.

When you place a Compeed Foot Care Blister Plaster over your blister, the hydrocolloid technology absorbs moisture from your body to effectively “cushion” the area so it remains safe. Although most ordinary plasters begin to peel off after a matter of hours, Compeed’s hydrocolloid plasters stay in place for several days and remain on even in the shower. Compeed’s Foot Care Medium Corn Plasters work in much the same way, except they absorb moisture from the effects of salicylic acid, dissolving the corn.

Compeed Products: When Should You Use Them?

According to research conducted in 2012, 58% of women remove their shoes on a night out because the pain to their feet is so bad. If you frequently wear shoes that are uncomfortable to walk in, chances are you’ve suffered from corns or blisters. Both are often caused by wearing ill-fitting shoes. But in some situations, it’s difficult to wear more comfortable, well-fitting shoes, especially if you attend a lot of events or parties.

Compeed’s products can be used even when you don’t yet have a blister or corn. For example, if you’re going to be attending an event and you know that you’ll be wearing uncomfortable shoes, simply place a Compeed plaster on the area which is prone to issues and you’re good to go! Having that extra bit of protection makes all the difference and saves you from further pain down the line.
